I managed to pick up a 16x16 audio matrix switcher (VS-2216) from ebay for pretty cheap. But now we need a way of controlling it! It has a RS232 interface which should be pretty simple to interface with.
The protocol for all (as far as I am aware) Kramer products are very similar and can be found on their website. The actual commands are passed both ways between switcher and controller (if something is switched on the switcher using the front panel buttons, the switcher will send a command to the controller).
Plan is, to use a raspberry pi to handle the control of the switcher meaning that we can switch it from, for example, an internal website.
